Teaching Phonemic Awareness with Sight Words

06.02.2013 by Jessica Kings //

I have been meaning to make these activities for a while and I finally had the time to do it!  Every time I teach my class a new sight words, we always look at the phonemic sounds that go into it.  I decided to make task cards for a center game that will be sure to help reinforce the phonics that go into the sight words!

I made two sets of cards: pre-primer words and primer words.

I can’t wait to use this lesson plan with my Kindergarten students tomorrow!

These look terrific! Something similar to this has been floating around in my mind as well. I teach second grade and hope that you continue the same treatment with first and second grade Dolch words.
